On Sunday 18th July 2018 we entered our AEC Regent Vs VDV 817 and CTT 513C in the annual Devon Coastal Run organised by the Historic Transport Club.
Devon General Society members, family and friends were invited to travel with us free of charge and we were joined by AEC Reliance 1 RDV and Leyland Atlantean MSJ 499 (was 925GTA).
Forty or so passengers travelled on one of the hottest days of the year for a most enjoyable trip from Exeter along the former ‘2’ route to Dawlish, where we stopped for a short break. The journey continued through Teignmouth, Newton Abbot, Kingskerswell, Torquay, Paignton and Totnes before stopping for lunch at either Buckfastleigh Station or Buckfast Abbey. A short run on to Bovey Tracey enabled us to join the remainder of vehicles at the rally site before returning to Exeter.
The 2018 event was the 40th organised by the Historic Transport Club, who later announced it was their final run.
