Seven buses from our collection took part in the Devon General Society’s ‘Devon General Remembered’ running day at Newton Abbot on Sunday 6th September 2026.
The buses involved were our 1937/53 AEC ‘Light Six’ rebuild ETT 995, our 1952 AEC Regent III NTT 661, our 1957 AEC Reliance VDV 798, our 1957 AEC Regent V VDV 817, our 1959 Leyland Atlantean 872 ATA, our 1965 AEC Regent V CTT 513C and our 1977 Bristol VRT VDV 137S. It was the latter’s debut public appearance under our ownership.
Our buses provided free services to Chudleigh, Ipplepen, Sandygate, Teignmouth and Torquay (Lawes Bridge), along with the feeder service to and from the railway station. ETT 995 also ran an extra trip on the town tour. In all, 1,544 passenger trips were made on our buses. We are very grateful to all our volunteers for helping to make the day a success.
Here are some images of our buses at the event, from Graham Bailey, Chris Drew, Richard Nardi and Martin White:
